Film Screening: “Against the Current” • Chiloé Island

Plastic Oceans Chile presents a screening of the award-winning documentary, Against the Current. This 60-minute film tells the story of Sarah Ferguson’s attempt to become the first person ever to swim around Easter Island non-stop – a feat that she took on to raise awareness about the plastic pollution. A short discussion on the issues raised in the film will follow the screening.
Trees & Seas is annual celebration uniting ocean and forest conservation worldwide. The official dates are September 16 – 25, with year-round programming also taking place, including our festivities on Chiloé from July 21 – 24.

Esta película de 60 minutos cuenta la historia del intento de Sarah Ferguson de convertirse en la primera persona en nadar alrededor de la Isla de Pascua sin parar, una hazaña que emprendió para crear conciencia sobre la contaminación plástica. Una breve discusión sobre los temas tratados en la película seguirá a la proyección.
