Cat Hellmann
Film Impact Manager
Cat Hellmann’s passion has always been for the creative arts, particularly film. Learning very quickly that visual arts – in all its many forms – can be a powerful tool for storytelling and change, she completed an undergraduate degree from Loyola Marymount University in film and TV production with a focus on post-production and documentary filmmaking.
With a proclivity for editing, color design and visual effects, she worked for Hello Sunshine and Netflix prior to moving into the non-profit space. The potential for meaningful impact through the arts drives her to continue giving a voice to the stories that may not be otherwise heard.
Born and raised in Hong Kong she grew up watching the films of Hayao Miyazaki and other Asian auteurs, whose cultural eco-philosophy helped shape her ecological worldview of the interconnectivity of human impact on the environment, and its intersection with the arts. In her free time, she loves to paint, garden, watch movies, and hang out with her cat.
