Hi! My name is Mara and I am originally from Italy but spent most of my childhood in Luxembourg. I have always been passionate about nature and everything that surrounds it.

During my Bachelor studies, I have been part of a student association called “PostPlasticGeneration” where I learned a lot about the danger of plastics not only for the health of our Oceans, but also for ourselves. Since then, my absolute goal is to one day have a Zero Waste home and help educate people on being more sustainable. Furthermore, I just came back from Costa Rica where I conducted an internship in an animal rescue centre. This experience reinforced, even more, my passion for marine and animal conservation and made me realize how beautiful our world is.

For Plastic Oceans Europe, I will be doing an Internship related to environmental education and help develop the educational program for schools. We want to allow schools to teach their younger children more easily about loving the Oceans and how to protect them.
