ABOUT THE AEGEAN ISLANDS
The Aegean Islands are an archipelago of 33 islands in Greece in the Aegean Sea, with mainland Greece located in the north and west. The islands have a Mediterranean climate, which include popular tourist destinations such as Mykonos and Santorini. The Aegean Islands are known for their beautiful beaches, historical monuments and incredible views of the coastline.
Our local BlueCommunities partner in the Aegean Islands is All for Blue, an NGO that works on protecting the seas and oceans through education and experiential cleanup actions.

OUR LOCAL PARTNER
The All for Blue organization is a non-profit based in Athens, Greece. They have organized over 370 coastal and underwater cleanups and have had successful public participation resulting in the removal of over 300 tons of waste since their formation in 2017. In a number of locations, small groups have formed after their cleanups and engagement activities. These community groups, now numbering over 20 throughout Greece and abroad, act to continue and build on their mission. All For Blue will continue supporting these groups and aim to inspire the formation of many more community lead groups. Its actions are purely educational and its purpose is to protect the marine ecosystem and sharks as well as improve our relationship with plastics and garbage.
RECYCLED FISH PROGRAM
A recent project of their is the construction of the first recycled fish in Greece. They are very grateful for all the support they received and public participation in this innovative action of bringing the first recycled fish in Greece. Sharks are very misunderstood creatures. They want to change the opinion of people on sharks and educate them about their critical role in keeping our seas and oceans healthy and in balance. With this innovative action of “Savvas, the shark” All for Blue hopes to raise awareness and impact people, especially kids who are our future generation and have to be conscious about this matter. Its construction aims to collect plastic for recycling but also raise environmental awareness that the world needs.
KEEP AEGEAN BLUE
Keep Aegean Blue is the biggest mission of underwater, beach cleanups and educational programs about ocean conservation ever taken place in Greece. All For Blue, in cooperation with the South Aegean Region and with the participation of thousands of volunteers, has combined eco friendly actions with the adventure for the protection of the oceans. Some of the activities include ocean conservation seminars, beach and underwater cleanups, boat expeditions and much more.
