ABOUT LAKE LEMAN
Lake Leman is located between France and Switzerland and is partly surrounded by the Alps, the highest and most extensive mountain range system that lies entirely in Europe. This region is mostly known for the Evian water but also for its natural richness, stunning highs and of course, the lake itself.
Pollution is an issue here as it is in many parts of France, despite the location being occupied by vast forests and nature-oriented.
Our local BlueCommunities partner in Lake Leman is Association des Collecteurs de Déchets Chablaisiens, a NGO that take action to keep their local shorelines and waters clean.

OUR LOCAL PARTNER
The Association des Collecteurs de Déchets Chablaisiens, created in August 2020, is an NGO composed of five main members and a dozen adherents. Born thanks to social networks, they organise regular cleanup events. Every 2 to 3 weeks, when the weather conditions allow it, a small group of volunteers is formed and explores chosen areas in search of abandoned waste. For two years, this group of committed citizens has carried out dozens of cleanups between friends and “invited” volunteers on the whole territory of the Chablais and in particular on the beaches of Lake Léman.
CLEANUPS, EDUCATION AND EVENTS
ACDC aims to organize cleanups regularly in the region and therefore help people take action on their own. They think that working together as citizens makes a big difference. They are also present on sport events to raise awareness about what they do, but also emphasize the necessity of reducing our consumption habits. They intervene in schools as well, with companies and work with cities on their own territory. They also work with several schools organising educational events and/or cleanups with their students as part of their program since sustainable development is now included in many course of study.
