LOCAL PARTNERS

Established in Pune, India, in 2019, Ervis Foundation is a social enterprise that is dedicated to working against the adversities of plastic pollution. We engage with youth to bring a generational change in the way we consume and dispose of plastic. They aim to make responsible plastic consumption and disposal a daily habit. Their goal is to not just educate but also to inspire a positive behavioural change in the young generation.

It all started in 2016, when Haaziq Kazi, young inventor from Pune, and co-founder of Ervis Foundation, was asked by his school to prepare a Ted Talk on any topic that was close to his heart. Having watched countless documentaries about the adverse effect of Plastic Pollution on marine life, he was certain that there was no bigger problem that he would want to address and drive awareness about. There was no looking back from there. This inspired him to build a ship which can help reverse the damage done to the oceans by us humans. With this idea of ERVIS, the ship was born.

PROJECTS

In collaboration with the Ervis Foundation, we are pleased to be showcasing and/or supporting the following actions within BlueCommunities:

BLUE WORKSHOPS

Through the Blue Workshops, we aim to collaborate with schools with a goal to foster awareness and behavioral change in youth for responsible consumption and disposal of plastic through discussions and activities, with a long-term goal of bringing a generational change in the approach towards plastic. We inculcate awareness by engaging the youth in activities and discussions that encourage a sustainable and a plastic-free approach to life.

FOR WHAT IT’S EARTH

For what it’s Earth… is a youth-led talk series by Ervis Foundation that aims to inspire the much-needed conversations about the future of our environment. We aim to create a platform for having constructive conversations and to brainstorm and share solutions to some key problems that threaten our environment today. The series hosts an array of youth and other individuals who are actively working in the forefront, tackling the major adversities that are harming our environment.

BLUE CIRCLE

The Blue Circle forum aims to bring young people and environmental experts together on the same ‘virtual’ table to discuss and brainstorm key actions, solutions and policies that can be implemented as a response to tackle the global plastic crisis. We aim to use the ‘Harkness’ method of learning to provide the participants a nurturing space in which they can effectively share their ideas and opinions on the topic of discussion.

BLUE WARRIORS CLUB

The Blue club is an initiative by Ervis Foundation’s Blue Circle Group. The aim of the program is for the youth leaders to organize a club in their schools with a focus to engage and inspire their fellow school-mates and together organize, lead and implement awareness and action programs within their schools and communities. The Club will be led and driven by the youth and will primarily be organized virtually.
