Rouge River Watershed Cleanup – BlueCommunities Detroit
Plastic Oceans International and the Social Forestry Project Assist in a Watershed Cleanup under our BlueCommunities Initiative
On Sunday, June 13 please join us in assisting Youth Way Project 313, Green Living Science, and Detroit Recycled as we clean up part of the Rouge River Watershed.
The event takes place in Rouge Park, home of the Rouge River. The Rouge connects directly with the Detroit River, and thereby, the Ocean. Our Watersheds are our first line of protection against pollutants like plastic entering our freshwater or oceans.
Fun fact; Rouge Park is one of the largest municipal parks in the US. It is actually bigger than New York’s Central Park.
The event starts at 11:00 a.m. and runs until 4 p.m.
Masks and social distancing are mandatory for this event.
