MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN AMERICA’S SOUTHWEST

ABOUT PHOENIX, AZ, USA

Phoenix was founded in 1867 and is a city of 1.7 million people, making it the fifth largest in the United States. Its economy was founded on cotton, cattle, citrus, climate, and copper. Today, the tech industry prevails within its hot desert climate, which provides a wonderful mix of flora and fauna.

Like most big cities and metropolitan areas, Phoenix certainly faces it’s fair share of environmental issues, including plastic pollution and other waste-related problems.

For this BlueCommunites location, we are proud to partner with Planet A Challenge.

LOCAL GOALS
• Plastic waste reduction
• Promote circular principles
• Raise awareness about plastic pollution
